R.I.P. Tana May 2003 - 2008

I received some bad news today. The Border Collie that I acquired 5 yrs ago as a pup. The one responsible for all this died sometime this year. I quit my job in Homedale in Jan so I don't get to see everyone like I would. But I stopped to let a friend talk to the guy that took her (she couldn't have asked for a better daddy.). He wasn't there but his son was and Tana had become his dog in the last few years. His Bud. They don't know what happen but she had been gone a couple of days before they found her. I did not want to rehome her but my lab and her both wanted to be alphas and I couldn't have that so John offered to take her, he already had her brother. She had reached the time for training and sheep wasn't part of the deal with her so with a heavy heart I let her go. I can be at peace with this because I know she had a life and hopefully the end was peaceful .

Rest In Peace my Little Girl I will always be grateful to you for showing me this life and bringing Trey and Belle into it. :(

After Christmas Blues

Well it is now 2 days after Christmas and the dogs and I are still trying to recoup. Me because I fell Christmas Eve and made a nice slash down my wrist. I am less sore than I was the last two days but still feel rough. For me Christmas is spent more on the road than being somewhere. I always spend Christmas Eve at my kids so I can be there when the g-kids open gifts, so I go in the night before after I put the dogs up for the night, than after we open gifts I come back out to take care of the dogs and than back in again usually to go to Ontario to my son's in-laws for dinner. This year we had 3 cars go over.

The dogs just loved the snow this morning. the littlest one had a problem because it was up to her butt. I will be so glad to go work Belle next weekend. Haven't been out for a week. i am looking forward to the Brr Bones Trial as this will be her official first run. I ran her at the fair but that was to see where we were. It wasn't to bad of a train wreck. Just keeping my fingers crossed. I plan on borrowing the kids video recorder and have a friend run it so hopefully our run goes good. I would like to see her from a different angle.

Well I guess I best get back to the dishes. I hear them calling. Hope everyone has a Happy New Year.

A New Beginning

Well this is the first time I have ever done a blog so bear with me as I learn. This blog will be on Belle"s and mine trial and tribulations with herding. I'm not new to herding having run another dog for several years. It will also have some personal info so my sister in WI can keep up with me. And just what ever else happens. Well off to watch BSU beat TCU. Go Broncos!!!
